Field Day on Tuesday, June 1!
Please come and celebrate the end of the school year with us by volunteering for our annual Field Day, a day filled with exciting athletic events. One of the kids' favorite days of the year requires lots of volunteers. You can volunteer in the morning, afternoon or both!
Retirement Reception for Mrs. Erlich and Mrs. Teboda
You are invited to a retirement reception honoring Mrs. Merle Erlich and Mrs. Babs Teboda on Thursday, May 27 from 3:00 to 5:00 in the Bartlett Elementary library.
Bartlett Elementary School says a fond farewell to two women who have dedicated their careers to education. Mrs. Erlich has been the principal at Bartlett Elementary for the past 8 years. She retires after 25 years in education. Mrs. Teboda has been teaching a total of 23 years. She has taught fourth and fifth grade at BES for 15 years.
New Principal Named for Bartlett Elementary
Karen Mink has been named as Bartlett Elementary's new principal for school year 2010-2011. The School District U-46 Board of Education approved the selection at their May 3 meeting. Ms. Mink is currently an elementary principal in DeKalb School District 428, and prior to that was an elementary principal in Aurora School District 131. May 11 PTB Meeting to Feature Internet Safety Presentation
The PTB general meeting on Tuesday, May 11th, from 6:30 to 8:00, will feature an Internet safety presentation and the election of officers.
Special event: Internet Safety for Children presentation led by Phil Morris, Director of Technology for the Kane County Regional Office of Education. The event, titled “Computers, Kids, and all that Tech Stuff for Parents…,” will be held from 6:30 to 8:00PM, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Bartlett Elementary School. The event is free. The presentation is especially geared toward adults, but children are also welcome.

The Illinois General Assembly intends to pass a budget (perhaps a six month budget) and adjourn by the end of this week. A new website has been created that provides a very quick, easy and effective way any Illinois resident can contact our elected Illinois state leaders to ask them to support our children and not cut school funding.
