PTB 2008-09 Accomplishments

We thought it would be appropriate to highlight PTB accomplishments for the 2008-2009 school year. As always, we couldn't do the wonderful things we do without such a supportive group of parents and teachers. We are very lucky here at Bartlett Elementary to have a strong group of parents willing to volunteer countless hours to support the activities and events we sponsor. Our teachers also make this a special place because of their dedication to our kids. Below are the highlights of a great year!

Events: Ice Cream Social, Walk-a-Thon, Scholastic Book Fairs, Bingo Night, Blood Drive, Science Fair, All New Fun Fair, Field Day.

Fundraisers: Walk-a-thon $15,884 Fall/Spring Scholastic Book Fair $2,248 cash profit/$4671 book profit, Dine and Share Programs $440, Mainstreet Roller Skating $594, Flower Sale $649, General Mills Box Tops $2119, Great Lakes Gift Cards $ 207, Market Day $1,955, PTB Dues $1,870, Target Red Card $2,122, Dominicks Card $219, Directory Advertising $390.

After-School Programs: Spanish Club, Chess Club, Super Science Fridays (w/ Museum of Science and Industry), Lego Engineering Class.

Assemblies: Author Mark Crilley, Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln, Pro-Bike Demonstration.

Recognition/Programs: Birthday Book Bash, Citizen of the Month Pizza Lunch, Teacher Appreciation, Patrol Trip, Accelerated Reading Tests, Assignment notebooks and folders, Battle of the Books t-shirts, 5th grade DARE t-shirts, Support Staff Acknowledgements, Yearbook, School Supplies, Jr. Achievement, Popcorn in the Park, Spirit Wear.

Fund Accounts: Reading Specialist Salary (new this year!), a portion of the Computer Lab Tech Salary, Field Trips, Library, Principal, Teacher Classroom.

Special purchases: Parking Lot Safety Equipment, ELMO projector.

Our PTB website has become an integral part of our overall communication with parents. We hope to push this forward even more in the years to come. Many of the flyers and forms will be available online. You can now sign up to volunteer for events online, as well. If you haven't already subscribed to the PTB email announcement list, please do so. This is another great way to keep up to date with school events and PTB news.

Come August, it will be time to begin preparing for 2009-2010. We need YOU in order to continue to support the school with the many programs we offer. Volunteers are the backbone of any Parent Organization. We all do this for our kids! Please take a look at the PTB Committees below and consider volunteering your time.
